Russia does not see any sense in buying control stock of “Beltransgaz”

The vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Sechin does not see any great economic sense in Belarus’ suggestion to buy the control stock of “Beltransgaz”. ITAR-TASS reminds that the Russian gas holding company has already paid $2.5 billion for 50% of the stocks of “Beltransgaz”. “We think we have overpaid even for the 50%”, - said the Russian vice Prime Minister.” In his opinion, there is no great financial sense in these investments for “Gazprom”, although it may appear in the future.

According to Sechin, it is difficult for Russia to discuss “the price of control” as Belarus has not made any certain offers yet.
