Russian court arrests...a cat!
An unusual incident happened in Kuzbass. The Sphinx cat was arrested for his owner's debts. The cat was evaluated as 500 Russian roubles ($15).
Several months ago, the man flooded his neighbours and refused to recompense the damage. The casualties appealed tot he court and the court obliged the man to pay 45 thousand Russian roubles.
All the property in his apartment belongs to his relatives. He didn't have documents only for the Sphinx cat. When the man was leaving for work, court officials were already waiting for him at the doors. They arrested and evaluated the animal. The cat wasn't confiscated though - the court officials left it "for responsible storage" at his owner's. If he doesn't pay, the cat will be sold, informs RIA Novosti.
