Ryhor Baradulin and Kanstantsin Veranitsyn Streets to appear in Vitsebsk
Vitsebsk City Council made the decision on March 25, 2015.
Streets named after two famous Belarusian poets will appear in Vitsebsk. One of them will be named in memory of Ryhor Baradulin and the other – Kanstantsin Veranitsyn, author of Taras in Parnassus.
Vitebsk City Council of Deputies decided it on March 25, 2015.
Kantsantsin Veranitsyn lived in the 19th century and became one of the founders of the modern Belarusian literature. Ryhor Baradulin (1935-2014) is one of the last literary men awarded with the title ‘People’s Poet of Belarus’. He was nominated to the Nobel Literature Prize for his book of verses Ksty in 2006.
