Samsonau makes it to Olympic table tennis quarter-finals

Belarusian Uladzimir Samsonau has defeated Briton Paul Drinkhall in the 1/8 finals of the Olympic table tennis tournament — 4:2 (11:9, 11:6, 11:8, 15:17, 7:11, 11:8). Thus, our compatriot has made it to the quarter-finals.

Samsonau won the first three games and lost the fourth game to the Briton despite leading with the score 10:5. Drinkhall took the initiative in the sixth game but Samsonau managed to win the match.

Samsonau will compete with German Dimitrij Ovtcharov in the quarter-finals on Wednesday, August 9.
