Soberness day declared in Senna district due to Masherov marathon
October 4, 2008 was declared the day of soberness in the Senna district, Vitsebsk region in connenction of a marathon to commemorate former Belarus leader Piotr Masherov.
The sales of alcohol were banned in all the shops across the district. Presentations about the harm of alcohol were staged at enterprises, streets and schools.
Almost 800 athletes from across Belarus took part in the marathon which was organized for the 20th time.
