Social actions take place in Brest and Hrodna; detention in Svislach
Social actions organized by opposition activists and organizations are taking place in Belarus today. The majority of them are unauthorized. The authorities satisfied only 2 appeals out of 800 – in Mahileu and Orsha.
Let us remind you that the actions are dated for the benefits cancellation in Belarus. About 100 people took part in a social action in Brest. Unauthorized actions have taken place in Hrodna and Minsk. Only one detention has been reported so far.
That is what one of the leaders of the Belarusian Communist Party Valery Uhnalyou said in his interview with ERB:
“There were not any serious problems except for the detention of Syarhei Abrazouski, head of Hrodna affiliate of the Communist Party, who organized an unauthorized action against the cancellation of benefits and construction of a chemicals plant in Svislach”.
According to some sources, Abrazouski has already been released.
An authorized picket will start in Mahilyou at 2 p.m. It will take place near the House of Culture of the “Himvalakno” plant – in a traditional place for actions of the kind.
