Sportsmen have not received money for Olympic medals yet
It is still not clear when Belarusian Olympians are going to receive the money promised to them for winning medals at the Olympics in Vancouver. The deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism Dzmitry Shychko has informed ERB about it.
Dzmitry Shychko: “The date has not been appointed yet, because the guys are still taking part in competitions or whatever. Everyone is away and it is difficult to gather them together. That is why we will chose the time when they will not be engaged in any competitions and when they are on the territory of the republic”.
The deputy Minister has also promised that that the prizes will be awarded as soon as possible and that the financial award will take place “in a festive atmosphere”.
Let us remind you that the Ministry of Sport has promised to pay $100 thousand for gold medals, 50 – for silver medals and 30 – for bronze ones.
