State archivists find only pro-Soviet verses by Kupala and Kolas
A page dedicated to the 125th anniversary of such classics as Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas has appeared on the web site of the State Archive Service of Belarus. Originals, autographs of the verses and audio tapes with their voices can be found there together with biographies of the classics.
Unfortunately, archivists seem to have found only those verses where the poets demonstrate their belief in “the bright future”.
For example, Kupala is reading passages from such verses as “Song to Building” and “We need Songs”, while Kolas – an extract from the verse “Soviet Days”. Archivists have not found any other audio tapes… Pro-Soviet verses can also be found among the printed originals.
