Statkevich urges drivers to drive around square on December 19
A presidential candidate Mikalai Statkevich has urged drivers not to use their cars in the centre of Minsk on December 19 or to drive around October Square. He claimed it during the online TV debates of the presidential candidates at tut.by on December 14. Statkevich noted that the authorities often used drivers as a barricade. They blocked the traffic and created jams, warned Statkevich.
At the same time, all the candidates participating in the debates – Vital Rymasheuski, Mikalai Statkevich and Yaraslau Ramanchuk – urged Belarusian citizens to come to October Square at 8 p.m. on December 19. They stressed that the action would be peaceful.
