Supreme Court upholds death sentence
Belarus' Supreme Court rules to uphold the death sentence pronounced to Aliaksandr Hrunou from Homel for female student's murder.
He was accused of a brutal murder of Homel Francysk Skaryna State University student Natallya Yemelyanchykava. Hrunou was sentenced to death.
His appeal was considered at an open hearing, BelTA reports. It was decided not to satisfy the appeal lodged by Hrunou and his lawyer. Thus, the convict can only plea for mercy now.
Homel Province Court returned Hrunou guilty of killing Natallya Yemelyanchykava on September 20, 2012. She offended him in a group of friends and it caused the aggression. He remembered the offence when he accidentally met the girl in public transport. The man waited for the girl near the entrance to her house and stabbed her 102 times.
