Survey: 58% of Russians support intervention into other ex-Soviet republics
The survey was conducted by Russian Levada-Centre.
Answering the question about the possibility of Russia’s annexation of the territories of former USSR republics, 58% of the pollees said: “Russia has the right to do it, it should protect Russian people”.
28% said: “Russia does not have the right to do it but the annexation of Crimea was legal and corresponded to the international norms.”
Only 4% of inhabitants of the Russian Federation think that Russia has no right to do it and that the international community cannot but assess Russia’s actions as annexation and intervention into a sovereign state. 10% of the pollees could not give any answer, UNIAN reports.
