Two thousand people dance together in Dublin (video)
The dancers have set the world record in most mass Irish dance performed in public.
More than 2 000 people from dance schools all over the world gathered on the banks of the River Liffey in the center of Dublin in order to set a new record. The previous record of 652 people dancing in a continuous line was held by Nashville, Tennessee in the United States.
The Dublin performance was led by New Yorker Jean Butler, the lead dancer in the first ever show of Riverdance in 1994, news agencies report. According to the organizers of the Dublin dance action, over 2 000 people participated in it, while the Guinness Record Book officials counted only 1693, due to some reasons.
