Ukraine digs 500km ditch along Russian border
Authorities in the Sumy oblast decide to dig a trench to prevent Russian military vehicles from crossing the border into Ukraine.
The measure will also prevent smugglers in crossovers and other vehicles from entering Ukraine, UNIAN quotes head of Sumy Oblast administration Vladimir Shulga.
About 20 kilometres of the 4 metres wide and 2 metres deep ditch has already been dug, the official said.
Sumy Oblast borders Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod Oblasts of Russia. The border is over 560km long.
