Ukraine to raise electricity charges

Ukraine is planning to raise electricity charges for Eastern Europe. Our eastern neighbour’s Ministry of fuel end energy informed about it. According to its head Yurii Boiko, long-term contracts will be reviewed. Fortunately, Belarus is not on the announced list of countries.

The price of electricity will rise for Poland, Montenegro, Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. Ukraine noted that the reason for this step was the countries’ “abnormal practice” of reselling Ukrainian energy bought for 5 cents per kilowatt for 10-15 cents in other countries.
