Ukrainian beer causes losses for Belarusian breweries
The Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs has started an antidumping investigation of the import of Ukrainian beer. It has been initiated by the “Belarusian state food industry” concern that sent the corresponding appeal to the Belarusian brewing trade. According to the concern, the amount of Ukrainian beer in the whole import increased from 18.7% in 2007 to 32.6% in 2009. Specialists from “Belarusian state food industry” think that it has made Belarusian breweries suffer losses. The sales of Belarusian beer decreased by almost 10% from 2007 to 2009.
“Brest Beer” has experienced a decrease in its income, notes BelaPAN. “Dzvina Brewery”, “Rechytsa Beer”, “Maladzechna Beer” and a brewing company “Friend” have suffered losses.
