Uladzimir Kondrus lies down in court cage (video)
Uladzimir Kondrus has lied down on the floor in the court cage. He is standing trial in Minsk's Maskouski District Court today. Kondrus put his jacket on the floor and lied down, prompting the judge to adjourn the hearing.
Kondrus, 39, is from Rudzensk, Puhavichy District. He is the last person detained for the December 2010 post-election protests. He is accused of taking part in ‘mass riots’ and is facing from 3 to 8 years of imprisonment. Human rights defenders have recognized Kondrus a political prisoner. He has pleaded not guilty.
