US halts trade and military cooperation with Moscow
The United States moves to halt all trade and investment talks with Russia until the conflict in Ukraine is resolved.
It is said in the official statement made by the U.S. Department of Trade, BBC reports. The USA stopped military contacts with Russia earlier. All including exercises and meetings, negations, visits and conferences will be temporarily halted.
"We are urging Russia to deescalate the crisis in Ukraine and bring the Russian troops back to their bases according to the treaties regulating the position of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea,” Rear Adm. John Kirby said.
Russia’s actions on the Ukrainian territory violate the international law, U.S. President Barack Obama said on Monday.
Meanwhile, Russia announced the terms of negotiations with the West, a source in the Russian MFA reports. The official Moscow demands that the Feb.21 agreement between Yanukovich and the opposition is fulfilled. It includes a constitution reform and the creation of a coalition government. Russia expects all Ukrainian political forces to take part in the negotiations.
