USA may impose sanctions on Belarus
The United States has decreased the position of our country in the annual human trafficking report.
The USA has published another annual human trafficking report that includes 188 countries. The document contains the analysis of different countries’ attempts to prevent sex trade and various forms of exploitation, Radio Liberty reports.
Belarus has been put to the lowest level (3rd) in the report, Radio Liberty reports. Official Minsk was unable to stick to the minimal standards of human trafficking prevention in 2014, Washington believes.
Belarusian women go to work abroad and face sex exploitation there, the report says. The USA also criticizes Belarusian Saturday volunteer work-ins. “State employers threatened and fined the workers who refused to participate in the days of unpaid work,” the document says.
The third level may make the USA impose sanctions on our country. In particular, the assistance not connected with foreign trade and the financing of civil servants in cultural and education programmes may be cancelled.
