Vice President of “Milan”: Sorry. We did not know fans were waiting for us
Euroradio has interviewed Adriano Galliani and found out why the Italians did not meet fans at the airport and whether they have found a new Kutuzov in BATE.
Euroradio: How do you like Minsk?
Adriano Galliani: Great! I have just returned after a walk in the city – I have seen Minsk-Arena, the cycle track and the Ice Palace – these are wonderful objects. They are fantastic; I could not even imagine that they could be so great. Congratulations! I was in Minsk 10 years ago when “Milan” played with BATE in 2001. I have noticed real progress here. That is why - my congratulations to you!
Euroradio: How was the team stretching in the morning?
Adriano Galliani: The stretching was organized. I was away and did not see it. But I am sure that everything is okay.
Euroradio: So, you have not seen the stadium and it may be a surprise…
Adriano Galliani: Our players have not seen the stadium and they will arrive there only in the evening. However, they do not usually have any problems with new stadiums.

Euroradio: The Belarusian mass media have informed that the team arrived in a bad mood. It is true?
Adriano Galliani: It isn’t. It is not true at all! I would like to note one more time that we did what the police told us to do at the airport yesterday. We did not know that fans and the press were waiting for us. We approached the main entrance when we were told to use another way. That is why I would like to apologize to those who were waiting for us at the airport. It was not “Milan”’s decision. “Milan” would have gladly met its fans. It was decided by the administration of the airport. Sorry, but it was not “Milan”’s fault.
Euroradio: You saw BATE – Czech “Victoria” match. Which of the teams can hope for a better position? What forecast can you make?
Adriano Galliani: I saw a good team – BATE-Barysau. I do not like making forecasts because I am not used to it. I believe that BATE has a real chance to progress.
Euroradio: Your club acquired Kutuzov after “Milan”-BATE match 10 years ago. Have you found any other BATE player that could join “Milan”?
Adriano Galliani: We haven’t (laughs – editor’s note). We haven’t found anyone at the moment. And I do not think that it may be possible. However, you never know it in football.
Euroradio: For example, Hancharenka thinks that Abate is “Milan”’s most dangerous player. Have your players named any BATE member who could make them worry?
Adriano Galliani: I talked to them but I do not know what to say. I think that BATE is a good team that can make “Milan” feel anxious.
