The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said it had received only 10% of the promised weapons from the West. Kyiv expects military assistance to accelerate.
"No matter how much effort Ukraine makes, no matter how professional our army is, without the help of partners we cannot win this war," the BBC quoted Anna Malyar, Ukraine's deputy defense minister, as saying. She emphasizes that every day of delay means "the lives of Ukrainian fighters, the lives of Ukrainian citizens, civilians, the destruction of Ukrainian cities and, as we have already seen, the temporarily occupied territories".
With the help of Western arms, the Ukrainian authorities hope to achieve military parity with Russia in order to stop the Russian offensive and launch a counterattack, liberating the occupied territories.
