Yanka Kupala Theatre actor’ sentence to be pronounced on March 2
Artsyom Barodzich’s sentence will be pronounced on March 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. He is standing trial in Minsk October District Court.
The actor is accused of the possession of drugs (marihuana) for the purpose of their distribution. The prosecutor demands to imprison Barodzich for 6 years without the confiscation of his property.
The lawyer insists on the actor’s innocence. The prosecution has not proved the fact of the distribution of drugs, she stressed. Furthermore, the search in Barodzich’s flat was conducted with law violations, the defense claimed.
Barodzich has been smoking marihuana for six years, he admitted earlier. He regrets it, he said in his last plea. He has asked to punish him in a way not connected with imprisonment.
