Yarmoshyna: ballot papers to be recycled
Within six months, all the ballots from the ballot boxes will be stored in local executive committees. It is up to the local authorities to decide how to destroy them later. But perhaps this time they will be recycled, CEC Chairwoman Lidziya Yarmoshyna said.
Yarmoshyna: "They are destroyed in every executive committee, where they are stored - they are now stored in the local administrations, which formed precinct commissions. And they dispose of them in accordance with instructions. Now, as far as I know, all the trash is collected, and in general it is possible that it will all be deposited with the trash or recycled."
According to the CEC, 6,115,041 voters received ballot papers, but only 6,112,364 were found in the ballot boxes.
The presidential elections were held in Belarus on October 11. According to preliminary information from the CEC, Aliaksandr Lukashenka was the winner with the result of 83.49%.
