Yarmoshyna: Street protests pose biggest threat to parliamentary election

Ярмошына лічыць вулічны пратэст найбольшай пагрозай для парламенцкіх выбараў

Opposition street actions may pose the biggest threat to this year’s parliamentary election, CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna said in the programme Contours shown on ONT on the evening of August 14.

Opposition politicians’ appeals prove that ‘participants of December 2010 events have not learnt any lessons even in prison’, Yarmoshyna said.

The opposition is getting ready to lose at the election and is trying to taint the reputation of the organizers of the election. The CEC chairperson does not believe that elections may be rigged or ballot papers may be replaced.

Representatives of different political structures are needed in parliament, Yarmoshyna believes. Then they will be able to debate. “It is funny to hear some people say that the Parliament is not meant for debates,” the CEC chairperson added.
