Zmitser Dashkevich released after 25 days in jail
Young Front co-chair Zmicier Dashkevich was delivered home from the Aksrestina detention center in Minsk in the evening of May 19.
The ex-political prisoner is under preventive supervision and must stay at home after 8 p.m.
The police detained Dashkevich in the evening of April 24. Pershamaiski District Court judge Yury Harbatouksi returned him guilty of disobedience to the police and violating the preventive supervision regime. The Young Front member was jailed for 25 days.
Human rights defenders reckon that Dashkevich and three dozen other activists’ arrests were preventive. The authorities probably wanted to avoid likely protest actions during the World Ice Hockey Championship.
