11:56 Volha Kudrashova wins gold medal in Bulgaria
The third day of the European biathlon championship in Bansko (Bulgaria) ended on February 24.
One more Belarusian winner celebrated her victory in the 10 km women’s pursuit racing in the absence of the leading biathlonists who had refused to participate in the championship because they were getting ready for the coming World Championship.
Volha Kudrashova won a second gold medal for Belarus. The silver medal was given to a German Uta Nizyak and the bronze medal – to a Bulgarian Irina Nikoulchina. One more Belarusian biathlonist Lyudmіla Kalіnchyk managed to get in top 30 - she came 16th.
The situation in the 12.5 km man’s pursuit racing resembled that of the sprint race. Syarhey Novіkau came 10th and the other Belarusian snipers did not manage to get in top 30.
The Polish biathlon veteran Tomash Sіkora won the gold medal, a Lett Ilmars Britis came second and the bronze medal was given to a Norwegian Egil Gjelland.
February 25 is the last day of the championship in Bansko. It will be dedicated to relay races: 4x7.5 km for men and 4x6 km for women.
