12:34 Belarusians win first gold medal at European Biathlon Championship
The second day of the European Biathlon Championship in Bansk (Bulgaria) finished on February 22. Our biathlonists celebrated their first victory in the 7.5 km sprint for women this year.
Darya Damrachova has won the first gold medal for our national team. The 3rd place is also taken by a Belarusian - Volha Kudrashova has won the bronze medal. Silver medal belongs to a Ukrainian biathlonist Vіta Semerenko.
The results of Belarus in the 10km sprint for men are rather modest. Syarhey Novіkau came 10th with one miss; the other Belarusians are between 30th and 34th positions.
The famous Pole Tomash Sіkora won the gold medal, a Check Yaraslau Soukup came second, and an Austrian Tobіas Eberhart came third.
Pursuit racing of 12.5 km for men and 10 km for women is to take place in Bansk on February 24.
