Belarusian human rights
defenders have nominated a political prisoner Zmitser Dashkevich for the Robert
F. Kennedy Prize.
The initiators of
the idea were the «Belarusian Helsinki Committee», «People’s Legal Assistance»,
«Human Rights Protection Alliance» and «Repression Victim’s Support Committee».
Let us remind you
that a youth activist Zmitser Dashkevich has been sentenced to 1.5 years of
imprisonment for participation in the activities of an unregistered
organization.
Every year «Robert F. Kennedy Memorial» gives awards to brave people, risking
their lives to protect human rights and who are persecuted by the authorities
