14:33 Ideologists control Internet cafes in Valozyn

Ideology workers have recently been added to the list of government agents that carry out weekly raids and inspections at Internet cafes in the Belarusian town of Valozyn. Apart from them, the Internet centers are targets for sanitary service, police and youth education staff from the local town hall. The ideologists make sure that the casfes operate in working hours only. Besides, they are interested in what site are visited by Internet users.

According to the chief of ideology department of the local town hall Aleh Bobryk, the speculated establishment of the electronic media control unit is not true.

“We have only two Internet cafes. We do not have opposition or the independent media. There is no point in making such measures,” the official said. He also assured that ideology specialists were joinging the inspections voluntarily.
