18:52 Sevjarynec to remain in exile till August
Pavel Sevjarynec, the exiled opposition youth leader, has been refused to walk free ahead of the scheduled term, reports our correspondent Jadviha Staseuskaja. A Depertment of Corrections commission today rejected an appeal for a pre-term release of Pavel Sevjarynec, sentenced to exile for staging the unauthorized protests against the results of the 2004 referendum.
Mr Sevjarynec said he had met all the required conditions. He worked hard and had no complaints from the administration. Yet, he failed to repent that he was guilty.
Pavel Sevjarynec has the right to appeal the Commission's deicision at the prosecutor's office, but he is not going to do so. According to the sentence, he is to be released on August 15, 2007.
