40 Belarus guest workers fined in Russia
Several dozens of illegal workers from Belarus who were hired to build a local bank are busted by police in the Russian city of Yaroslavl. The Belarusians had to pay over $3000 in fines.
The Belarusian guest workers were hired by the Moscow-based Engineering Company that did not bother to register its employees with the Russian migration authorities.
But the local prosecutors were stunned to find out that our compatriots had to live in a 18th-century historical building which was given out by the local authorities to Rusinvest Co. The living conditions were described as antisanitary by prosecutors.
6-8 people had to share a tiny room in the building. The employer is now ordered by court to find a better accomodation for the Belarusian builders.
Each of them had to pay $78 in fines. Igar Danilovich, the team leader, said that the fines had already been paid and that they now had to register with the Russian migration authorities.
