60th anniversary of murder of Salamon Mihaels remembered in Mocsow

The 7th Salamon Mihaels’s festival of arts has started in the Russian capital. It is dated for the 60th anniversary of murder of the talented actor, producer and Jewish civil activist, informs RIA “Novosti”. The founder of the State Jewish Theatre and head of the Jewish anti-fascist committee was killed by members of BSSR KGB according to an order pronounced from Moscow. Mihaels’s body was found in one of Minsk streets on the morning of January 13, 1948. This murder was the start of an anti-Semitic campaign initiated personally by Stalin.

Wreaths will be laid on Mihaels’s grave in the Donskoye cemetery on Sunday.
