"Amnesty International" worried about safety of Belarusian politicians and journalists
A human rights organization “Amnesty International” has distributed a statement in connection with the presidential elections in Belarus. The human rights activists have urged the Belarusian authorities to guarantee the safety of opposition politicians and journalists. "Amnesty International" has also sent a letter to the Belarusian General Office of the Public Prosecutor, reports BelPAN. The document contains an appeal “to conduct a quick, unbiased and effective investigation” of the circumstances of the death of a journalist Aleh Byabenin, founder of the website of “Charter’97”.
