Authorities in Baranavichy preserve official status of Belarusian Language Society branch
The members of the Belarusian Language Society from Baranavichy managed to agree with the local authorities to keep their branch officially registered at the town council. In February 2010, the branch was denied a legal address at the local forest authority which it had used for more than ten years. Belarusian Language Society chairman Aleh Trusau had to intervene in the situation, but eventually local activist Viktar Syrytsa was called to the town council and informed that his branch was officially registered at a new legal address.
