BCD collects 1500 signatures for return of St. Joseph Church

The Co-Chairman of the steering committee of the BCD Paval Sieviarynets informed the European Radio for Belarus that it took less than a fortnight to collect such quantity of signatures. Sieviarynets: "I've got information about 1500 signatures. However, there might be even more than 2 000 by now, as we collected signatures during travels to holy places in Lahishyn, Baranavichy and Hlybokae. I don't have precise data with regard to signatures collected in these towns yet. We started collecting signatures in the middle of August".

Let us remind you, that more than 30 000 signatures were collected under the appeal to the Head of the state for return of St. Joseph Church in 2007. However, now an enterprise "Inheritance of Minsk" announced there will be a hotel complex in this building. At present moment, the state archive is located in the church building.
