BCD sues "7 Days" newspaper for calling party's activists sectarians
The newspaper "7 Days" has published an article about the sectarians in the steering committee for creating the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy". The BCD is going to file a claim to the court on behalf of the founders of the party and those who were called sectarians in this article. The Co-Chairman of the BCD steering committee Aliaksej Shein has informed the European Radio for Belarus about this: Shein: “An article called "Sect, stop!" has been published in the newspaper "7 Days". Surprisingly enough, this article is dedicated to the activity of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party. We've decided to sue the newspaper, as this article contains false information and abuses the dignity of the party and the steering committee for creating this party, as well as the dignity of people whose surnames have been mentioned”.
According to him, the BCD will demand the newspaper should publish the refutation of the article and apologise.
6 BCD members, including the presidential candidate Vital Rymasheuski, have been mentioned in the article "Sect, stop!"
