Football: Belarus submits bid to host Euro 2020
The Belarus Football Federation has applied to the European soccer governing body UEFA, seeking to host three Euro 2020 group stage matches in Minsk.
Minsk also eyes to host the 1/8 finals of the European Championship in 2020.
According to Pressball newspaper, the application mentions the stadium, which will be constructed on the basis of the existing "Tractor" stadium with 33 000 seats. It will be designed purely as a football stadium.
The UEFA will have considered all applications and have picked the shortlisted bidders by September 20. 13 European cities will be eventually picked to host the Euro 2020 games.
