Belarus confirms Lukashenka, Yuschenko to meet
Belarus and Ukraine are in consultations to set a date for the meeting between the presidents of the two countries, Belarus foreign ministry spokesman Andrei Popov said in a statement Thursday. The European Radio for Belarus reported on Monday that the meeting between Alexander Lukashenka and Victor Yuschenko could take place on June 27 in the Ukrainian city of Chernigov.
Reports in the media suggested yesterday that Minsk asked Kiev to postpone the meet for the first part of July. However, the Ukrainian News information agency reiterated that Alexander Lukashenka could visit Ukraine in June 27.
