Belarus crew 15 hours behind leaders after 3rd stage of Dakar race
The participants of the Dakar'2009 rally have completed the third stage, but the fate of the Belarusian crew remained unknown after the second stage, as their names were not on the official list of the crews who had finished. However, it became known later that after losing their route, the Belarusians managed to complete the leg. At the same time, they were penalized with a two-hour fine.
On the third rally day, racers had to cover 694 km. Sergei Shkel and Alexander Taranenka were 118th, lagging behind the leaders for almost four and a half hours.
In the total standings, our crew is at 124th position, over 15 hours behind the leaders, reports the official news agency BELTA.
