Belarus eyes four sites for nuclear power plant
The government is eyeing four sites for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Belarus. The sites are located in Chavusy, Mahilyou region, Kukshynauskaya (Shklou district in the Mahilyou region), Astravetskaya in the Hrodna region and Verkhnyadzvinskaya in the Vitsebsk region, Vasil Losich, an official from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Enfironmental Protection, is quoted by Belapan as saying.
Earlier statements from the government indicated to two sites in the Mahilyou region and only one in the Hrodna region. The final decision about the construction site will be taken by the end of April, notes Belapan.
