Belarus to ratify Common Economic Space documents by New Year?

Presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia has passed a declaration on the formation of Common Economic Space (CES). The declaration was passed after the meeting of Customs Union's supreme body at the level of heads of state in Moscow, reports RIA Novosti. The heads of the state declare that they have formed a legal basis of CES in the framework of Eurasian Economic Community. In accordance with the plan of action, these documents will become effective on January 1, 2012.

The heads of state expressed confidence that Kyrgyzstan and Tadjikistan would soon enter the Customs Union and Common Economic Space.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that Belarus would have CES documents ratified earlier than Russia and Kazakhstan and would do it by January 1, 2011.
