Belarus ready to improve relations with US: Foreign minister

Belarus does not accept pressure from the US and is ready to regulate the relations on a friendly basis, Belarus's Foreign Minister Syarhey Martynau said in Minsk Friday. “The key to the improvement of the Belarus-American relations is the abolition of US sanctions. If it happens, further steps will be made in an absolutely different light", the minister stated.


Commenting on US Ambassador in Minsk Karen Stewart's interview with the Moscow-based Ekho Moskvy radio station, Martynau said that her comments were not in line with reality and the status of an ambassador. “We are very surprised by the unprofessional statements by the American colleague," BELTA quotes the Belarusian foreign minister as saying.
