Paratroopers from Belarus, Russia to hold joint military drills near Brest

Belarusian and Russian paratroopers will begin their exercises at the Brestski training site, the press service of the Defense Ministry reports. The exercises will be held on April 14-16. During the training, the paratroopers will practice joint action to identify, capture and destruct the conventional enemy.

According to authorities, the exercise will take place in cooperation with the airforce,  paratroopers will do parachute jumps from the Mi-8 helicopters.

During military exercises, Belarus and Russia will develop "common views on the methodology for preparing and conducting joint tactical exercises" and the most effective and appropriate methods of work of commanders and staffs, forms and methods of special operations.

On April 7, Belarusian paratroopers took part in landing on the ice floe drifting in the Arctic. The Belarusian military who participated in the operation, were trained at the site of the 76th Guards Airborne Assault Division in Pskov. There were 85 Russians, 13 Belarusians and 2 Tajiks who landed on the ice floe. Until recently, the Belarusian military have not participated in such operations.
