Belarus, Ukraine nationals arrested for loan fraud in Moscow
Police in the Russian capital arrested two Belarus and Ukraine nationals on suspicion of fraud over consumption and car loans, reports Interfax. The criminals would file dozens of loan applications to various banks, seeking money for the purchase of cars. Stolen or fake passports of Moscow residents were used to fill in the application forms.
Some 30 percent of the banks would normally deny loans to swindlers, but most of the applications were approved. After receiving loans, the criminals would buy a car and sell it immediately without registration.
The Belarusian and the Ukrainian are facing criminal charges of a large-scale fraud.
