Belarus, Ukraine to use local currencies in trade
Belarus and Ukraine have agreed to use the national currencies of the two countries (Rubel and Hryvna) in export and import deals in order to reduce trade expenditures. A working group will be set up to develop proposals for the Belarus-Ukraine bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade. Experts had suggested this method for trade between the two countries before, but due to polical and economic factors, this principle was not implemented, reports the official news agency BELTA.
