Belarusian art to be transported to art fair in Holland
The third international art fair “Open Art Fair 2010” will open in Utrecht on September 8. It will work for 5 days.
Belarusian booth will be presented at the fair for the second time. It appeared thanks to the Belarusian artist Victoria Kovalenchikova, a graduate of the Belarusian Academy of Arts.
Victoria has her own gallery in Amsterdam Victoria Kovalenchikova Gallery, which specializes in modern Belarusian art. After a year since the gallery was opened, Victoria decided to present not only her own works, but also the works of other modern Belarusian artists. Thus, this year it will be not only Victoria who will show their works at the Open Art Fair 2010 , but also Volha Huskova, Viktar Minko, Ksenia and Aliaksandr Shapo and others.
Kovalenchikova: “I am actively promoting Belarusian art here in Holland, the art which hasn't been presented here before. It arises interest. It's a very good promotion. Why Belarus cannot be presented in Holland, in the USA, Europe etc.? Because if we just sit aside being happy for our artists' level and nobody else knows it - that's a problem”.
About 16 thousand of fair visitors got acquainted with the Belarusian booth last year. It is expected that their number will increase this year..
