Belarusian Ministry of Trade confirms dairy products shortage
The Belarusian Ministry of Trade has suggested that the government should limit the export of cheese and butter in order to prevent shortage of these products in Belarus. The document quoted by “Interfax” explains that “the situation with provision of the population with dairy products is worsening. The variety of dairy products including cheese and butter has become limited in Minsk shops”.
The Ministry explains it by the fact Belarus increased export of dairy products when the international price for milk rose. The Ministry also noted that the difference in prices led to mass export of dairy products.
