Belgian government simplifies requirements for political immigrants
Immigrants should present their job offers and prove that their living conditions correspond to the existing demands in order to receive a residence permit. Furthermore, the fact whether their children go to local schools will also be taken into account.
“We would like to simplify the procedure of getting a residence permit for people who have successfully integrated into the life of the Belgian community”, - says a representative of the local authorities.
According to members of the government, new rules for immigrants will help improve the employment situation. Probably, the innovations will simplify the procedure of getting documents by political refugees. Many of them have to wait for a reply for 4 or 5 years. They are supported by the state all this time.
