Br100 bn needed for 2015 presidential election
Central Election Commission chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna says it will not be the most expensive election campaign.
About 100 billion roubles will be needed for the presidential election in 2015, CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna announced.
"This election campaign will not be the most expensive one,” BELTA quotes Lidziya Yarmoshyna. “Local elections cost much more because there are more candidates. Nevertheless, we will do our best to hold a decent election.”
There may be up to 15 candidates at the next election, the CEC thinks. The number is unlikely to increase because it is difficult to collect 100 thousand signatures in order to register, Yarmoshyna said.
The Election Code would not be changed before the presidential election, Lidziya Yarmoshyna announced yesterday. There should be ‘no promises and payments dated for the election, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said at the yesterday’s ‘economic’ meeting.
