Brest police ‘want to talk’ to independent journalist
Ales Lyauchuk has been summoned to the police by phone.
Brest police have summoned the independent journalist ‘for a conversation’. A district police officer phoned Ales Lyauchyk on December 18. An administrative case had been started against the journalist, he said. However, he did not say what law the journalist had violated.
"He wanted to meet me and discuss the interview I had taken in Savetskaya Street on November 24. I did take the interview because I am a journalist and work for BelaPAN. I collect people’s opinions from time to time,” Ales Lyauchyk told Euroradio.
He refused to visit the police and demanded a subpoena. Then the police officer said that he would deliver the subpoena to the journalist’s flat personally.
