Bus with Minsk activists detained for second time
A bus with representatives of Minsk democratic movement heading for Svislach to celebrate the Memorial Day of insurgents of 1863 has been detained for the second time in Baranavichy.
Let us remind you that the bus was detained by the police in the morning, at 8.30 a.m. Having checked the passengers’ passports, the police allowed the bus to continue its way three hours later. However, the bus was detained again not far from Baranavichy.
The head of the group, a historian Anton Astapovich, informed ERB about it.
“I’m in the criminal investigation room. I have to give explanations and tell them that we are not transporting any alcoholic beverages. According to the police, somebody phoned them and said we were transporting spirits”.
According to Astapovich, they will return to Minsk after they are released because they will not be able to arrive to Svislach in time.
